The Curious Case of Banner ads

While browsing on the web, I came across this ad from The ad promised a very competitive fare for flights from Pune to New Delhi.

With a price tag of Rs. 3535 only, I clicked on the ad as the price tag I was quite cheap and I thought it would be a good deal to buy the ticket.

NOTE: The ad also shows you the date of booking i.e. 6th July 2012.

I landed on website and when I searched for the fares, I was surprised to see the prices starting from Rs. 7788 onwards. As a customer, what do you make of such ads which promise something, lure you to click and then create destinations with absolutely different content? Answer: Absolutely nothing and you feel cheated.

What’s the whole point of CPC and optimizing your ad-campaigns for context when your actual deliver campaigns which don’t make sense :(

It looks like the ad-campaign is running on a large scale. See below:
